Black dots after denoising (see below)

Much video memory is used when denoiser is activated,
Try activate the denoise passes, see which pass is giving the black dot. Might be in the reflection pass that otoy needs to look at and train the AI more?

How much is denoiser adding to your VRAM? In my interior test it jumps from 2288mb to about 3835mb roughly, a nice 1.5gb just to denoise but maybe out of core will help on much larger scenes?

Will have a look to that.
Yes the amount of Vram is indeed about 1.5gb in my case

I also noticed some slow down with this version but as said in the post I guess it is not yet optimized.
Thanks
Yes, denoiser memory usage is high at this moment. we have some plans to reduce the memory usage. It won't be same in a stable release. For now please try to dedicate a device only for denoising which can be done in the devices section of the preferences dialog.

Can out of core help on this issue?

Thanks
Jorgensen
Nope, Not in this build, denoiser allocates memory only when it tries to denoise for the first time. We have plans to reduce the memory usage and a CPU fallback version.

Thanks,
Hope you can improve the memory usage to the best.
By the way, denoiser is really magic and works like a charm.
I really enjoy this new version :)

Jorgensen wrote:I've got some black boxes when using the denoising feature - can this be related to less vram?

and can it be solved by using out of core function? (i have tried, but don't quite know what i do).

jorgensen
Black boxes mean the denoiser could not able to denoise for those pixels. Nothing to do with the memory in this build, you should see either fully black or fully denoised image. I like to check this scene and if needed I like to add it to out AI training set. So could you please send this scene to me?.
