I have some fast spinning wheels with motion blur applied. I spend a couple of hours trying to figure out why my motion blur looked like the wheel was wobbling. In the end it turned out this issue was isolated to the live viewer.
Here are some screenshots of my setup.

Settings
I set the time sampling to maximum for troubleshooting purposes
Is this a plugin limitation or is there something I can do to fix this?
Motion blur in live viewer not the same as picture viewer

Is it fine at Picture Viewer? That's more important.

Yes the picture viewer seems to be rendering things perfectly. But the live viewer seems to display an inaccurate result.
Is it something to do with this (from the documentation):

LV is different. It can only catch sub-samplings when you resend the scene. But later cannot read updated values. Just main frames, no subframes data will be available. It's limitation and design.leehenshall wrote:Yes the picture viewer seems to be rendering things perfectly. But the live viewer seems to display an inaccurate result.

Ah okay I thought that might be the case.
In this instance then is there any possibility of getting an accurate MB result in the LV? I can understand that I won't be able to dynamically change the blur in realtime but I cannot get accurate blur even if I stop the LV and resend the scene and do not make any changes. No matter what I do in this instance motion blur always looks wrong the LV.
Just want to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong in terms of setup. It seems like for this kind of fast wheel motion blur maybe using LV is not an option.

As i said that LV should display accurate results if you RESEND the SCENE. It will account the "time sampling value" for motionblur in this case.

Okay thanks for confirming. I'm not in the office at the moment so cannot check.
I'll try again soon and see If I can make any progress.
I did try for a couple of hours last night to make them match without success. It seemed no matter how many times I resend the scene and which ever values I put in the time sampling it would always look wrong.
I also tried making the wheel animation slower and faster but still the only way I can get the results I need are by using the picture viewer.
It's not a huge issue for me as I can disable motion blur while using the LV and just do the motion blur at the end.
