I've always had problems with keeping my slave gpu's connected and running when using the live viewer. I have two computers. The one I work on and a second one with x3 gpu's in it. When I start working I go into network preferences and get my slave connected. It stays connected for awhile but then I notice it's no longer connected. When I go back into network preferences again it pops up immediately and says connecting. It's like it just stops after a little while but reconnects automatically when I go back into the settings. Thoughts?

Hi HuttonMiller3D,
are you connecting the Slave from the Network settings in Live View, or from Render Settings?

I'm setting it up from the Render Settings. See attached images. Whenever I notice that it's not helping anymore....I no longer see like 3/3 GPUS in the live viewer....I go back into render settins and just see the connection listed as "Authenticating." Then it pops back online. But it only lasts for a few minutes before losing connection. I don't have any connection issues when rendering to picture viewer though.

It's possible that your question answered my question. I went up into "options" in the live viewer and "enabled" network render and it seems to have fixed my problem as of right now!!!!! Thanks. I guess the render settings on really effect the final render out and not the live viewer with regards to network stuff.

Hi,
yes correct, the settings in Live View are for permanent connection with the Slaves, while if you use the settings in Render Settings, the Slave is disconnected at the end of the work, so it can be picked up from any Master.

Awesome, thanks so much! I've been using Octane everyday for the past year and a half and never realized that I needed to do that. My life is changed, hahahaha.
