When I re-export to an existing scene, the materials I made in the previous run are lost. If then I close Octane without overwriting and open the .ocs, the materials are there. :?

Is this a Blender exporter thing, or Octane thing (beta22 works as supposed)?
Thats since v3 with Softimage too, hope it is on the todo list. (check the second post on v3 thread)
Have no feedback yet...

Same issue with blender as Synthercat's and Matej's. I export my scene from blender, once opened in Octane I tweak its materials and settings and resave (overwriting) the ocs. I then try to export as animation but none of the settings I fixed and saved in the .ocs are there :(

@iljubicic: are you sure you are using pre23_4 ? (the one with the kitchen splash screen). Previous versions had a bug with saving.

My first attempt at a render with Pre23 v4 linux build resulted in Octane just closing itself (after rendering was well on its way). I cannot tell exactly when it closed, as I usually walk away and let my renders finish. My second attempt resulted in Octane freezing - not my system - just Octane, so I was able to just kill the process.

I then update my video driver to the latest version and was able to get a render finished. I started another render and Octane again closed itself and after rendering for a while.

I restarted that attempt and set the max sample slider all the way over (64000), and went to sleep. When I woke up, I had a flawless render. All attempts were on the same seen with different camera views.

Not complaining - just checking in to say that the linux build does seem to be completely stable. 2.2 is working flawlessly.

Hi!

If I load a previously saved material macro into my scene, then save the scene, Octane doesn't want to load this scene anymore: "File format error, didn't succeed to load image". This limits the usability of this version, because alongside the problem of loosing materials on scene re-import, the workflow is crippled.

I have found an issue that let my computer freeze...
Build two spheres, one inside the other. Make the inside sphere as a light.
Then play with the opacity from the outer sphere.
After some seconds, the interaction with any application has no effect.
The second hand from my clock in my sidebar freeze.
The only think that work is the mouse pointer and the change of my numlook from my keyboard.
After ctrl+alt+del or ctrl+alt+esc, the computer freeze complete.
Time to press the reset button...

Hope that anyone can confirm this.
Will test the same with the v3...

Edit:
Have test it with v3 and it works.
The result should be the same as in the image.
I have include in the zip a Octane scenefile.
