I have a material with a scattering medium node (scattering driven by a texture), it renders much darker in the PV compared to LV.
The material preview ball is also darker, so I assume the LV is not correct? However, its the look in the LV that I want but I can't achieve it as a final render. It seems to be something to do with Scattering Phase, as setting this to +1 makes the LV and PV look similar (though not identical). As the value approaches 0 the difference is exaggerated.

Why don't you support your BUG reports with SCENEs please? It's first requirement if you believe and post a BUGREPORT!

Because it might be a KNOWN issue... and I don't want to post the scene file here.

Ok understand! But i have to move it to normal section. You may get answers from there.
Bugreport section is important for my plugin development to fix issues when users give good information to help us.

OK... its a bit unclear where to post these things,

Found the problem... its not to do with the Phase at all it was using the c4d Layer shader in the light Texture slot. It doesn't seem to be supported, which is fine, however, the PV and LV handle the error differently hence the confusion.
I assumed if a shader wasn't supported it would not work at all, but it only fails to work in PV, in the LV it does render the Layer shader & texture, albeit incorrectly.
