.
You can find a rigged backplate background scene in this tutorial post:
viewtopic.php?f=126&t=65566

This is to avoid the terrible image plane implementation in OctaneForMaya,
and workaround the still broken "camera mapped texture" ....

Hi Calus,

Thank you so much for sharing the tutorial. As an update, Maya image plane is supported on our new refactored branch.
Could you please upload a sample image of the workaround "camera mapped texture" to debug here?

cheers
Kind Regards

Honestly, the image plane still doesn't work, and this is the V3 of Octane.
Every time, it seems like a joke.

You have been talking and talking about the refactored version for so long, nobody still hopes to see it. It is a shame to know that Octane could have lead the GPU renderers, but the implementation for Maya just ruined it.

BK, I am not blaming you, the problem was already present before your arrival. You are trying to do the things right and I salute you for that.

I think there are some people who work secretly for Redshift at Otoy...

Hello Ciboulot,

Thank you for your honest feedback and my apology for the delays  in the release of Octane for Maya refactored version as we had to wait for support to make the new plug work.
Please find the link to test beta version here [ viewtopic.php?f=109&t=65703&p=332313#p332313 ]
The Maya background images as the backplate have been implemented and all we need to do is enable/check the "Alpha" from the Kernel settings.

We hope you will find this version more artist friendly. If there is any feedback, please feel free to let us know.

Cheers
Kind Regards
