I'm having trouble rendering materials in octane 3ds max. I tried converting in render settings but nothing seems to work it just renders gray, so I hopped inside the standalone version and imported my model and textured it in there, and everything looks great.. I know there are octane materials in 3ds max but it won't allow me to connect bitmap texture maps to any of the octane slots such as diffuse etc. Can I export my standalone octane material file somehow and bring into 3ds max? I just got octane btw, so this is all really new to me

Hi.

What Material are you trying to convert? So far Vray is the only material that can be converted right, if you got a Corona one is not supported

I have a model of a plant, and when I import the obj into 3ds max. The textures in the material editor are standard scanline materials with diffuse, normal, and spec maps.. but I'm unable to see the materials in the octane render viewport, they just render grey, and when I look in the render settings material converter tool it says that standard mtls are supported so I'm not sure why it won't work for me. I've figured out how to re-texture the materials for the models I have in the standalone octane then import them into 3ds max through the localdb but I feel like there's a faster process to converting materials than what I'm doing because with a bigger project this would take forever.

Hi dandoozled,
Octane converter tool converts Vray and standard materials.
You could share the material with issue.
I will try to take a look at it.
