SAME RESULT, LOT A NOISE, UNITS IN METERS, CERO BUMP IN MATERIALS, ONLY IN TILE WITH 0.03, THE LIGHT STILL GENERATE NOISE, I THINK SO IS THE ALGORITHM, I DON'T KNOW, IS ONLY MY POINT OF VIEW
ADD IMAGE AND FILE WITH ALL PARAMETERS, PERHAPS IS AN VALUE TO DO MORE CLEAN AND LESS TIME THE IMAGE, DIRECT LIGHT WITH DIFFUSE MODE, IMAGE 1200 x 1000 PX SAMPLES 1000, ONLY TWO OCTANE LIGHT, ONE IN THE WINDOWS ANOTHER BEHIND OF CAMERA

Hi, maybe 1000 Samples are too low for a noiseless image? How about light samples? try to set the Light to a 1000 samples at least, why use Diffuse? a PT would return you a more realistic lighting..unfortunately I can't load the file in my 2016 Max

Can you resave this scene in MAX 2016?merid888 wrote:SAME RESULT, LOT A NOISE, UNITS IN METERS, CERO BUMP IN MATERIALS, ONLY IN TILE WITH 0.03, THE LIGHT STILL GENERATE NOISE, I THINK SO IS THE ALGORITHM, I DON'T KNOW, IS ONLY MY POINT OF VIEW

I'll take a look.
Thanks for commenting, I can send you the file in 2016 format to know if you can do tests on your pc and try to understand the detail of noise generated by the program

Ok, I've managed to open the file.
Here is orignal rendered for 1000samples: There is much settings to tweak to achieve better, noisless look, but first of all I've tried to render scene for 2000 samples:
Then I've changed materials and lights settings to physically correct:
1. IOR - not always 1.0 - It depends of material type, i.e plastics 1.5 - 1.7, marble sometimes 2,1 to even 3,2. But 1.0 gives you metal/mirror reflections;
2. White walls - there is no pure white colour in real life, setting diffuse to 255 produces unrealistic effects and more noise - highest value should be around 210~220;
3. Bumped up Lights sampling - smaller light sources need more samples to avoid introducing noise
4. Used Portal to distribute light from outside
5. Set Camera response to neutral
6. Camera Hotpixel removal was too aggresive (cause the lower value is, the filtering is higher) killing your details and made image of tiny "splashes" - changed to 0,3~0,4
7. Tweak Gamma, Exposure settings - but you have to make "3ds max gamma hack" enabled in Kernel Settings
8. Tweaked Kernel settings, enabled AS
9. All is rendered with 3.07 - 4.44 engine
Here are renderings:
1000 samples: 2000 samples: And finally changed Kernel to PathTracing, bacause DirectLight is biased engine, where light distributin isn't physically correct:
1000 samples: 2000 samples: Render time for 1000 samples DL: 0 min, 21 sec
Render time for 1000 samples PT: 0 min, 24 sec
If you like the result I can post .MAX file.

Hi merid888,

hi kcpr-raffaEl
thank you for share you comment, i would like so much if you can post the max file to check all setting, glad to see difference in the images

Hi merid888,
Simple geometries with emission significantly reduce noise, what do you mean this ? i use in the window a diffuse material with emission black body or i am wrong in this simulated light ?

Hi merid888,
try using an 8-segment sphere to simulate a light bulb, or in some cases, if light bulb is visible, you can use tricks like these:
