Octane tag I.D on selected polygon

Hey all I have a model that I want to render seperate beauty/layer passes to how do I apply seperate octane object I.D's to selected polygons on the model? There are different parts of the model that I want different control over the lighting any help would be great

I think that the only way is to split the object in sub objects, if you need to use the new Light ID mask option, for example
