Hi,

In my Blender scenes, I always include a camera, but in Octane, the only available one seems to be Octane camera.

I'd like to know more about how camera works in Octane. I had included my first scene in a UV textured cube, in order to get nice reflexions on shinny metallic objects, as I do in Blender or even in Indigo, but in Octane, I got a black screen, like if Octane camera was outside the cube and not able to see the scene inside or like if the cube stopped all light. So I have deselected the cube before exporting the obj scene, and it worked fine, except that I had to use an Image based lighting to get something looking like I wanted.

And what about the lamps of the original scene ? are they usable in Octane ? Beside the IBL lighting, I wonder where are actually the light sources...

I'm rather clumsy with external renders...

Hi,

You should wait a bit, we're in the process of implementing other lightsources, which will be available in next releases.
Octane render is quite young.

The new release posted here:
http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum ... ?f=9&t=332

Allows you to use directlighting while navigating/editing your scene,
and if you reduce the aodist (distance) parameter in the directlighting kernel node (in the preview configuration macro),
you can see things when you're inside an object.
