Hello !
I have a huge problem about Octane on C4D, i tried to install it on MAC on R18 but i can't seem to find the Octane menu so i guess it's not working very well. I probably dont have the good version or i dont know...
I installed the exact same version of C4D on my WINDOWS Pc at home and its working.
I downloaded both last version of Octane for Mac and PC on the Subscription part in my Account Settings.
I deleted the Maxon folder in "application" (dont know if its good way to delete Maxon, im new to mac but needed it to work at school), to install it again and try it on different Version, so i tried on the R18.011, didn't work, so I've done the 18.057 update and it's still not working.
I've checked the PDF, and on the website and it does say that "you have to be on the XXX version of C4D to make it work" but it seems like this is never the same version written between the website and the pdf so i dont know which version is the proper one to install Octane.
Do i have some others files to delete before installing Octane or C4D again ?
I really need it for my studies, thanks a lot in advance for helping me

Hi Loumnik,
for a correct installation, firstly you need to update your Maxon C4D to the latest build, (R18.057), or the plugin will not be correctly loaded.
Then copy the uncompressed c4doctane folder in Applications/Maxon/C4D R18/plugin directory.
And then, remove from the c4doctane folder, all the unnecessary c4doctane-RXX.dylib files not related with R18 specific version, and leave only one c4doctane-R18.dylib file in Applications/Maxon/C4D R18/plugin/c4doctane directory.
Which version of OsX have you installed?
Did you install the CUDA Mac drivers?

Hello
thank you for your answer
i did install the cuda drivers and i didn't know i had to haha.
But right now, i can see the Octane part in my C4D menu, i can open it, and i try to open the live viewer but it crashes c4d every time, i checked my cuda drivers in case it wasn't the good version but it's the latest one, so i dont know whats going wrong.
When i open up my cuda options on my mac, its written that i dont have a GPU detected but im supposed to have one, so i really dont know what is going on...

What kind of mac do you have?Loumnik wrote: its written that i dont have a GPU detected but im supposed to have one
If you click on the apple logo > About This Mac it should tell you what kind of video card you have. If not there, click System Report and then click Graphics/Displays on the left
OSX 10.12.4 | Intel 12 core @ 3.33 ghz | 128 gb ram | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080TI | Ubuntu Linux slave with 3x 1080ti
That doesn't sound like a compatible graphics card.
