if i click on any render it just send me the error , no i don't have a standalone version is the first time i try octane
Ok, so perhaps your system can have problems to run Octane. What are your system specs, the GPU(s) and the NVIDIA driver version? A good test to know if Octane can work on your system is to install the Standalone version. If it works, the problem is on the plugin side for sure.
Also, we can check the plugin log file that you get after the crash. You can enable the log file in the plugin options panel. Please, enable it in "Debug" mode and attach here the log that you get after the crash.
Thanks,
-Juanjo

Hi,cgbeige wrote:Just purchased plugin for Houdini. Any chance we could get a build for 16.5.323? 16.5.268 is getting old. Thanks.
You can use the current 16.5.268 plugin with H16.5.323 without problems. Both versions are binary compatible. In any case, the next plugin release will include a proper plugin build for the latest Houdini production build.
Thanks,

Will the next update for Houdini include custom LUT support in tone-mapping. This would be very useful.

Hi Jaunjo,
I'm working on the latest build of 16.5 Houdini Indie - The resolution limit has increased in this build from 1080p to 4k Sq. However when I try to render a sequence through octane it says I can't due to Houdini indie license restrictions. I can however render in manta at 4k as a seq with no problem.
I checked into the Houdini Indie EULA - and it seems to allow 4k rendering in 3rd party render engines. Any idea whats up? Is there a new build that supports 16.5.378?
Thanks,
Paul

Hi,
The plugin code has been updated to support the new 4K resolution limits on the Indie version. This change will be available in the next plugin release, that will also have proper builds for the latest Houdini 16.5 production builds, although the current 16.5.268 build should work fine on them.
Thanks,
-Juanjo
