Issues with Hair on Multiple Closed Splines

I'm having some issues with Octane attempting to connect multiple closed splines when using hair on a connect object.

Essentially im putting a single spline object with multiple closed pieces into a cloner. Octane hair connects everything as a single piece of hair. It then bugs out and crashes shortly afterwards.

I've done this with a sweep nurb using the same technique but it is rather slow in both the viewport and to package for the renderer. If i were to realistically render this in motion, I will need to get it on the GPU somehow using hair.

Attached bug report and scene file with two different instances that have unwanted results. Aside from the undesired visual result, crashing occurs within minutes after adding hair. Is there a potential memory leak?
