Hi,

This seems like a bug to me,but maybe it's not.

I have some lights set up to light a few photos on a wall.
Between the lights and the camera is a piece of glass.

If the glass comes between the light and the camera (which is how the animation works) then I can see the reflection of the light in the glass.
However, I can ONLY see it in the glass. The 'seen by camera' in the Octane lighting tag is turned off, so it's not visible elsewhere.

As you can see in the uploaded image, the lights are showing up ONLY where the glass is reflecting them. This is obvious from the 'half light' that's being cut off by the glass on the LH edge.

Any ideas on how to remedy this?

have you tried unchecking "visible on specular" option in the light tag?

Hmm, I don't have that checkbox on my Octane LightTag.

I don't have Visible on diffuse either or transparent emission.

Maybe my Octane version is off.

On the live viewer, it says 3.06-TEST4.1

That TEST may be the issue.

Ok, I did that, but we have a serious issue now. The light shows up black behind the glass.

This seems like a bug to me.

However, what seems to work is taking the Opacity down to 0. With the previous plug-in, that would remove the light, but now it simply makes the black square go away which is what I needed.

Is that how it should work?

:) Sounds like you hit on the correct workflow where lights are not supposed to be seen.
