As the topic has changed from a simple car to a whole scene, I have opened a new thread.

I am not yet happy of all textures, and I think that it was not a good idea to apply this flower texture to the stones of the second floor (at the base of the windows).

Maybe the stones of the first floor are also a bit too dark...

I had put a second officer (Woman), but I have removed her because some people didn't like her on Blenderartists forum. I will add her later with some modifications if I have enough VRAM available, because I'm close to the limit of my GTX260. (maybe I will put her on the bike).

I modelled a detailed metal sign over the door of the building, but the version currently used is a low poly version with Nor Map. I did that to save some memory space, but on the textured version it is not possible to read the writing at this distance on the 1280x720 version (readable in part on the original 2560x1440 image).

it looks really good, and I liked the woman officer, hell, more of those, and I would be speeding just to get some tickets!, I think this version looks better, but I would add some dust and ageing to the building, it's too clean right now, like just built, the road and the pavement look more worn, and the car is awesome, but I already told you that ;)

Yes, I'm not really happy of the wall texture too. I will try with less contrast too. It is not possible to paint on the texture directly on the model, because of the way it is mapped :

The first floor is completely modelled and made of numerous stones.

In order to use an image of reasonable size while keeping enough random in the individual look of the stones, I mapped several groups of stones selected at random, using different places on the texture image. I used cubic projection and also "diagonal projection", a method I found that is useful for marble and stones. It is mapped from 45° in both directions and allows to map quickly all the faces of almost cubical shaped objects.

EDIT : I have done new mapping, and done some corrections in post prod in Photoshop Elements, for the leaks of dirt and moisture.

I'm searching a better texturing method, allowing to add the dirt and moisture on the texture itself.

Ahah ! Thank you !

I have in mind a scene with Donuts, but I will finish this one first and try to improve the characters, because I'm not good with humans. ;)

Currently, I am improving the mapping and adding new textures. I'm waiting for two GTX480 (I should receive this coming week) to enlarge the scene and add a third floor and roof to the building and some surrounding, to get more freedom withthe camera angle.

Stay tuned !

Ahah ! Thanks ! I have finally mapped the walls with dirt on the texture itself. I have had to change a bit the scale of the texture to find a place for the dirty areas on the image, and it has changed much the look of the stones... I prefered the previous one. This means that I still have to work a bit on it. No image available currently, because they are still on my workstation.

Stay tuned !

Just a test with Pre 23_v4, with a scene at night with some lightings using emitting meshes.

Original image in 2560x1440, rendered in 11min44s. 1874 samples per pixel.
