Hi Guys,
Ive come into an issue Im REALLY hoping to resolve.
Octane 3.7 the latest build for OS X crashes modo 11.2v1 and 11.2v2 on my Mac running Sierra . It happens when I import an obj into Modo, it just crashed before even giving me the import dialog. In 11.1 it works fine.
I disabled all my Modo kits, restarted and imported an obj after each restart of modo and enabling kits. I disabled octane and the import works fine but as soon as I enable octane in my kit enable dropdown I get the crash. I deleted the Octane folder in my kits and downloaded a fresh copy and installed. The same problem occurred - modo just crashes.
Please can someone give me some insight as I would really prefer to be working in the latest build of modo with octane.
Thanks
Gregg

Hi - what is the exact release number of the plugin that you are using pls? And what exact commands are you using to import the OBJ file?
Thanks

Hi - I cannot reproduce this crash. Could you pls provide an .OBJ file which produces a crash for you? Also - have you tried deleting your modo .CFG file?

I was testing with Modo11.1v1. You are right - it is crashing on OSX with Modo11.2v1. The crash is originating from the FBX library - not the Octane plugin. So I suspect the Modo FBX library version has changed in Modo11.2, but the actual FBX library being loaded is coming from the Octane plugin folder. I will need to investigate further. In the meantime, I recommend staying with Modo11.1.

I have escalated the issue to Otoy, since it is the Octane fbx library which is conflicting with the updating fbx library in Modo11.2. So waiting on a response. I will post back hear once I have news.Any luck in the investigation Paul?
