Is there any VR version for this update? I have updated my Houdini license into 16.5 and I can't roll it back. The test version doesn't allow me to use my Octane VR to run it. And the stable version of the Octane VR for Houdini is not compatible with Houdini 16.5. Right now I am kind of stuck.
I'll send you a link to download the VR build in few minutes.edan_lusion wrote:Is there any VR version for this update? I have updated my Houdini license into 16.5 and I can't roll it back. Oops, you are right. It seems a problem related to the new Houdini 16.5 plugin version. In the Houdini 15.5 and 16.0 plugins builds the Octane light scale seems to work fine. I'll take a look at this issue to fix it for the next build.
Thanks for reporting this issue!

I think that there is something funky going on with network rendering on this build. I'm not sure if it's plugin related though. I appears to lose connection to the slave after a reload.
Also if you goto the ROP and disable then re-enable network slave rendering then IPR. You can see some odd stuff happening with gamma/color/exposure.
My scene was using the path tracer kernel, a default box and grid with a simple glossy and a diffuse texture applied.
I was also using and HDRI in the environment rollout of the renderTarget.
I'm in Windows 10, houdini 16.0.705.

Hi,
There are several fixes related to the network rendering in the test5 and test6 3.08 Octane builds (remember that this build is using the test4 core), so perhaps this problem is fixed now. Next week I'll release a new plugin build with the latest 3.08 Octane core ... if the problem is still there, we'll further investigate to know what could be the problem.
Thanks,
-Juanjo

Hi,
In 3.08 , every time I change the camera imager settings like saturation or exposure or anything else, the render restarts. It didn't happen with the previous versions. I'm guessing this could be a bug with the test build.
regards
Rohan

Yes, sorry. I've been working adding the new Octane 3.08 test6 features added after the 3.08 test4 core used by the current plugin build, and fixing some bugs on the plugin side. The new build should be available in a couple of weeks, just after the holidays break.
Thanks for your patience,

Is it possible to send me a link to the VR version as well? I also updated Houdini to 16.5 prior to subscribing and have no way of using the stable release.
Thanks!
Thanks!
