Hey Aoktar & Team,

I've been trying to work out issues since Windows has updated to the new Fall Creator's Update v.1709
When going to rendering to Live Viewer, Picture Viewer (in C4D) and in standalone - I'm getting a hard freeze and then eventually it goes to a blue screen.
I've tried multiple NVidia drivers including the ones posted in other posts (382.33 was successful for some), and the lastest 388.43 - and some in between with no luck.
I've also tested multiple sticks of RAM, in various combinations 1x, 2x, 4x and all work well.
I thought maybe it was a network glitch, pulling image assets from a NAS drive, so I localized/saved with assets, so all images/tex were with the project - still freezing.
I tested each card individually with the Octane benchmark tool, and card 3 froze, and I thought that was the problem - then test it again, and it worked fine.

It's hard to tell where the problem lies - software/plugins vs. drivers/hardware, or even with the new Windows update.
I did manage to save out various log files for some of the renders that locked up but didn't trigger a blue screen.

Either way, it would be helpful to get some insight on other areas I could troubleshoot based off your findings - or perhaps there are some clues in the log files to any issues with the GPUs.

Hey Joey

Any response from the Otoy team on windows fall creator's update?

My PC crashed updating it so I reverted back to last working version for now.

Have you seen the problems this guy had with fall edition?

viewtopic.php?f=81&t=64666

Think I'll avoid the update for now.

It's not a bug of plugin If it's a bug. Please don't use Windows Fall Creator's Update.

OK.

Surely you should send an email to all your users with some background information and advice on this issue? I'm certain quite a few Octane users use Windows!

Hey Rik,

I did comb through the forum and eventually found that, among others. I ended up doing the same thing on two computers - full reinstall, wipe, GPU drivers, etc etc.
Disappointed it took more than a month to get a response here though...and a fairly obvious one at that.

I hope you don't get tripped up by the Fall Creator's Update. It can wreak havoc on your PC. Good luck!

Thanks, I just have to keep postponing the update.
Hopefully Otoy will provide some info one of these days. Shocking and disappointing that they haven't yet...
