Hi there,
I am using emitters to light my scene, they have opacity set to 0 and transparent emission enabled. They light up the scene fine, however my issue is that you can see the mesh reflected in mirrors and other specular materials. Is there some way to get rid of this? I want the mesh to light up the scene but not be visible. I am using octane server 13.4 and octane blender 2.78a

Have you tuned off "Visible on specular" checkbox on Emission material?

Ok. So while the lights are not showing up anymore, unfortunately I have some materials which use the mix of diffuse and specular mat. So when I disable 'show on specular' those materials don't look good.

So how can they look good if you disabled show on specular? OctaneRender does not have selective objects that reflect light and some does not. To do this you need some biased render engines where you can disable reflections in a way you expect to be.
