hey guys, just wondering if we should expect to see the pre23 performance drop stick around for a while ( not quite so many megasamples/sec as with 1.022 beta ).

not sure if this has been addressed somewhere or not, but didn't know if it was just the case of a pre-release still needing fine tuning, or if it's the case of a more complex system that simply requires some added crunching on the card?

Thanks for any info.

Yeah, there will be optimisation by the end of the 2.3 cycle but note that it's unavoidable that the more features we add the more computation is needed for every cycle. So it's fairely 'normal' to see performance drop as we go along.

don't worry too much about it.

1. write code
2. make it work / test it (this is where we are now)
3. optimize
4. compare results and retest

i'm pretty sure we can restore the speed with step 3.
and when 2.3 final is released, and we ship our first RC for v1.0 final,
we will finally be able to start optimizing performance, which we have to date not done anywhere.
