Hello,
Recently my C4D just freezes, no bug report, usually when I select the settings gear icon, or opening a octane texture to edit it. I'm working on some simple test scenes with few polygons or less and animated textures so nothing demanding. I have to force close it via Task manger but then C4D wont restart, it gets stuck initializing layout on the C4D loading window. I've check windows is updated and my graphic cards. I was using Octane 3.07 test 6, then I tried the newer 3.07 v2 but still does it. Any ideas?
A. Win 10 16299.19
B. Gtx 1080ti and 970
C. 64gb
D. 388.13
E. 3.07
F. 3.07 v2
G. C4D r19.024
H. Unfortunately as I mentioned I don't get a bug report it just freezes.
Thanks
George

Let me guess... an Asus X99 motherboard with PLX feature? Your problem sounds like mine. If it is, I'd send a bug report ticket to Nvidia so they release a driver that addresses this soon. Octane 3.08 and 4 require cuda 9 which is only contained in the newer drivers.

I have same problem. Does anyone have a solution?
win 10
Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 super
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080
64 gb ram
471.41 studio driver (472.39 gives the same result)
Octane 2021.1 (2020.2.5 gives the same result)
Cinema 4d s 24.11
The game driver solves 90% of the problem and such frustrations become relatively rare (and happen up to 4-5 times a day, instead of 4-5 times per hour)., but in some places it does not work correctly with octane. There is a peculiarity, it hangs up mostly either when calling the node tree or when calling the octane settings. Can you tell me what to do, please?

update. I think I found a solution.
I read this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=30&t=73228&start=10
I went to reddit and read the method there, wintab32.dll library I did not give out in the bug report, but it seemed strange that I also recently purchased a Huion tablet, and installed the drivers. So I decided to rename the file.
This solved the problem. I suppose that for some programs will need to change the name back, as for the same tablet Huion. But at least I have that option. I hope this will help someone.
