Thanks for the reply! Cool...all in the works then, I shall have to trawl the forums more so as not to re-post again!

My wishlist (I think they are all related to 3Ds Max plugin and not standalone, perhaps both?):
- Save button in the Framebuffer instead of having to clone to 3Ds Max Framebuffer just to save an image. This should have been there from the beginning!
- Support for ForestColor and/or multitexture (regular bitmaps are supported so perhaps this can be supported as well?).
- To be able to have the camera tab from render settings in the Framebuffer (like Corona and Vray) instead of having to open render settings every time you want to change for instance bloom or glare.
Cheers,
Daniel

- Already asked, but for this new year, what about a working vray converter ?
- a 3dsmax material with radiobuttons : diffuse/glossy/specular, and then the option for each material appear. so we can switch from one material to another easely....
- a well explained possibilities of maxscript use with octane
- we want to see textures in viewport and light in realistic view.
- what about a light lister with mass controls (asked so many times), with option to show just one instance of each light for more clarity...
- what about a proxy lister with mass control and relink
- I would like to change the default material assigned by octane (to light red for eg. or black)
- a free octane camera with an animatable focus distance
- a multilayer material ... no more mixed of mixed of mixed of ... materials...
wahouu, I just needed a vray converter... sorry I let myself go.

I just tried Fstormer renderer, alpha 0.17 release, and it already has basic and important features that are still lacking in Octane last release :
-directionnal light option with a slider for angle from 1 to 180°.
-gradient map
-multi-map by object ID or material ID.
-a separate roughness value for reflection and refraction.

CREATE OCTANE CAMERA FROM VIEW.
I know there used to be a script but it's no longer linked on the web.

As far as I know you can go to perspective view make new octane camera and then press CTRL+C, after that new octane camera should look like perspective view.jamestmather wrote:CREATE OCTANE CAMERA FROM VIEW.

Perfect Forum for what I was looking for.
Custom Conversion Profiles:
Custom Conversion Profiles:
- Incompatible scene elements can allow the user to specify an appropriate octane compatible component to use over the scene. Missing elements could be associated with specific compatible components also. This could also include cameras. With the ability to link incompatible component values to octane compatible values. Like mapping displacement to bump or for example, vray color to normal bump mapped to octane displacement
Cameras or lights can also be mapped and converted.
- I own a Space Mouse Pro. Controlling normal cameras with the space mouse has no issues, however, with the Octane camera; a targeted camera will only allow transformation of the camera node with the look at node locked in place. Disabling octane's targeted camera checkbox stops all interaction with the space mouse totally.
- Formatting of thumbnails changed
Options to allow for formatting to be represented like the 3ds max material browser. Allow for text only, or various icon sizes and in a table format
Thumbnails saved and only updated if material has changed
Ability to import the entire material list into 3ds max material library.
