Hi,
is there going to be a workflow anytime soon for using substance painter PBR shaders in OctaneVR for maya?
As of right now importing the Substance PBR material from the liveDb into maya creates a rats nest of a shading network with two glossy materials plugged into a mixed material with no discernable way of plugging imageTextures into the network in a way that works.
Any insight would be helpful, even if it's a workaround with creating specific additional maps in substance painter to plug into a standard octane material.
Thanks!
Substance Painter>OctaneVR for maya
Hi ambulator,
sorry, not a Maya user, but a workaround could be to load the Substance material from LiveDB in Standalone:

Add you map in the proper four slots, and savve it in your LocalDB, to be picked up inside the Maya plugin.
Hope it helps,
ciao beppe

thanks for the reply bepeg4d
Unfortunately I haven't purchased the standalone, just the subscripton.
Does anyone know if the substance material works in OctaneVR for C4D?
Also, the material should really work in the Maya plugin. Especially if it works elsewhere.

Hi ambulator,
the LiveDB section is reachable from any plugin, and since you have a subscription, you can also use the OctaneVR Standalone to access the LivveDB section.
You can also save a material in the LocalDB, and reopen it in another plugin or Standalone.
Just download the substance base material from LiveDB and feed it with your maps.
For c4doctane there is this alternative solution:
