Please! It's available in other plugins. Why not in Blender?

Sometimes this is just because there hasn't been enough users requesting it so implementation of other features has to be prioritized.

Could you please add this as a feature request so we get a feeling of how many users do require this same thing?

Yes, instance IDs is one of the new features coming with the Octane 3.07 core, but this is not what this feature request refers to, also I thought you were asking about Blender specifically implementing this.
