Hi!
I copied the After Effects Octane files from "Support Files" in the zip file to "Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2017\Support Files" (so the files in "Plug-ins" are in "Plug-ins" and the files in the parent folder are in "Support Files".
I then created a solid and applied the Octane Render effect to that solid. All I seem to get is this error:
Nothing else loads at all and if I try and add the effect a second time it says "invalid filter".
Is there something I'm doing wrong or is this a bug?
My specs are:
Windows 10 (latest update as of this post)
i7 6700K CPU
2x980M GPU's (driver: 384.94)
32GB Ram
256GB M.2 SSD for OS and Adobe suite
1TB HDD for additional docs and software
After Effects version: 14.2.1.34
Octane Standalone: 3.06.4
As a little additional info, I have Octane running fine in standalone and C4D (don't know if that's useful).
If I have posted this in the wrong place, please feel free to move this to another thread.
Thanks!
kraig.
Plug-in "octane.aex" could not be loaded.

Update:
I just realised that I also had an octane.aex file inside a rar file called "octane". I extracted that to "Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2017\Support Files\Plug-ins\Octane" which replaced the one that was already in there.
After this I tried again but this time I was prompted for a UserId and Password. After entering my Username and Password After Effects crashed with no error, just this:
Thanks.

Hi!aoktar wrote:What kind of license do you have?
I have a full Standalone and C4D license. The plugin was available to download in my downloads and was classified as "development" which made me think it was beta. Am I wrong in this? Apologies if so - I'll gladly get a VR license if that's the issue but I'm not sure if that's what is making AE crash though.
Edit: I should also mention I couldn't actually see a license available for purchase which was another reason I thought this was free to try

Awesome! That seemed to move me forward - now it says I need a license so I assume that's fixed the crashing. Is there a place I can purchase a license for After Effects? I couldn't see it in the Shop.aoktar wrote:Could you replace octane dir with this content and try again?
