Hi All,

Any opinions, and links, for best Poser Hair?

I looked at red spec, and it specifies only TRANS MAPPED HAIR. Well put transmapped hair in
the Renderosity search and ZERO results come up.

Ive got a bunch of hairs over the years, from vendors. But I hesitate to even try using one, cause of the fake
look. Can these be upgraded with new shaders ??

How about LOOK AT MY HAIR?

I thought I read: real hair strand geometry was out now. But where?

thanks

Most of the hair by "ALI" work best, also helps using RedSpecc's hair shaders as well as it really does help a lot. Even some of the older hair products tend to look rather decent with those shaders.

Other than that, it's a hit and miss amongst other creators as to what does work best.

I will second Ali's hair. I just wish there were more of them.

thanks guys.

Does anyone have octane pictures of this Ali hair to post? The vendors store pics look like
the old blah, poser engine renders.

Are all Ali hairs transmapped?

If I'm not wrong, I guess like 99,9% of the Hair sold at sites like Renderosity and/or DAZ are transmapped.
I second the notion of Ali's hair. Personally, I really do like the hairs of "Biscuits", as they are, imo, very "fine" or "thin" looking modelled and mapped (strand wise).

This is a picture with one of Biscuits hair (Gemi).
I did not use the redspec hair shader here. Sometimes the specular is too high for my taste (depends on the lighting)

The "shiny"ness of the redspecc hair is easily turned down.. it's usually set default at "amount 0.7" but if you change it to .9 or .95 it takes that shine off..

If the hair has many layers, you can alter these amounts for some nice effects.

I have suggested many hair ideas for Ali, and actually am his QA tester for RMP, so if you have ideas for hair styles, lemme know, I will pass them along to him. HR-186, 181, 143 and one coming soon are all my suggestions. Heck, 143 I suggested specifically for a character I wanted to make. And she looks AWESOME in Octane. I also recommend Wolfie's Touchable hair textures to go along with them (she always does one with every Ali hair). Lots of shades and they look good!

Awesome..

Personally, I prefer the shorter hair styles.. just off the shoulders kind of stuff where it doesn't interfere with the model's movements. Most of the Ali hairs that I prefer are the bobs, shorter lines.
