:-(
Will report in more detail soon.

SOLVED: I found that overclocking caused the crashes. This ran perfect before latest driver update but now I need to run the cards at default speed.
I'm getting constant crashes on my mac pro with latest driver. The problem is I'm not overclocked?? My cards are standard Titan X's but even a scene with a single cube crashes.

Octane is unusable at the moment. Eeek!

Hi rojharris,
which version of Mac Pro?
Which Mac Os X version?
Do you mind to share a bugreport.txt?
Do you mind to make a screen video capture to better understand what is going on in your particular case?

rojharris,
Have you tried to down-grade the drivers and test it? And what kind of crashes you say?

Not really sure what's happening but for me Octane has grown more and more unstable to the point where it now crashes my entire computer – and all I need do is boot up C4D, start Octane and make an object or material. Then it crashes and takes my entire system with it. I'm running the latest MacOS, with the latest CUDA and Nvidia drivers - are any other Mac users getting this kind of problem? My Mac Pro has not really been the same since the upgrade to Sierra and the latest beta Nvidia drivers.

I'm not blaming Octane on its own, but it's certainly the most fragile app/plugin I have; nothing else causes this kind of problem. It's pretty much unusable at the moment...

Hi,

Here everything is pretty stable... I am also on MacPro with latest CUDA an d Nvidia drivers.
Perhaps it is related to an other plug in..; remove all other plugins from the plug ins folders and try again..
When it's then stable, put the plug ins one for one back and try...

Andreas.

There's no changes on plugin which can crash your entire system. It's propably about stability of your gpu dependencies.

No, sure - not blaming the plugin. It used to work fine and was pretty stable, but my system has been borked ever since I upgraded. Something weird happened in the transition to Sierra. Now my esc key won't work and it take ages to wake from sleep - I think others have had this with the latest Nvidia drivers. The new Mac Pro can't come soon enough.

Seems we are skipping 6.3 and 6.4, waiting for 3.07.

Hi beppe,

Sorry for the late reply. I've been away. I have an old 2010 Mac pro that's been upgraded and twin Titan X's added (maxwell not pascal). I'm running 10.12.6.
Normally this is very stable but since the last driver update its not been so good. I think its not Octane but Nvidia. I cannot downgrade as the earlier drivers are not compatible with the system update. In the last few days it has been more stable and hasn't crashed so often. I will keep monitoring and if it starts to regularly crash again I'll see if I can send reports. Just as an aside, I'm not having any issues at all with Redshift, which also uses the GPUs

Cheers
