Hi All,

I hope someone can help me out after days of researching without any luck...

I know that if you have different GPUs in one system, the GPU with the lowest VRAM will limit the VRAM usage in the renders.

My question is: Would the same thing happen in a network render setup?

For instance there is a master machine with 4x 1080Ti with 11GB VRAM but the slave only has 4x 980Ti with 6GB of VRAM. Would the network rendering be limited to 6GB VRAM or would the master still be able to utilise 11GB of VRAM while the slave would be working at 6GB VRAM?

Someone please enlighten me :)

Many thanks in advance,

Hi laszlosomogyi,
the Master can continue to work, but the Slave will fail to load the scene if VRAM is not enough.
A partial workaround, is to enable 5GB of Ou-of-core option on the Slave to move all textures to RAM, but if geometry is greater than ~6GB, the Slave will fail again.

Hi bepeg4d

Thank you very much for your quick reply,

That clears it up and I guess when we get a project that kills the 980Ti Slave then we just have to stick to the 1080Ti Master only...

Oh well...

Thanks again!
