i think i have a bad news, its not possible to do anything with locked node, u cant group it, re parent it...
only thing i could do is unlock, but then it will be unlocked and maybe the anim will be corrupted...

Thanks for checking it out. I can unlock the node in my rig easily.
It's just to report something that i noticed.
Though, I noticed that when maya take care of exporting the whole scene into obj, or export selection geos into obj,
the lockNode is not a problem for it to handle. Though, for maya2Octane it tends to group he whole geo together to export?
Is it something specific in order to make the scene preparation work for octane in terms of animation?

i have to group everything so i can scale it and make sure that the exported obj is in meters
scripts selects all "upper" groups and other un-grouped meshes in the scene scale them by the proportion of unit scale and then exports to obj
u still have a probl with scene? i mean with exporting?
would be nice if u could send me whole scene to check for the probl u have, coz i dont have any structure similar to ur scene
