I have encountered issues with some older pieces of architecture, with low resolution meshes.
Just like on the picture i have included, pieces of wall are missing, part of the pavement, and the
geometry isn't lit correctly as you can see on the right side of the picture on the road... Is there
a way to make Octane work properly in this case? Why does poser render it just fine and octane cant?
Geometry pieces missing when rendering...

Try adjusting the Kernel->Ray Epsilon.

If the Ray Epsilon was not the issue, it could be the normals for the geometry are wrong. Try turning OFF smoothing on the Octane material. You can also display the 3 Normals Render Passes, which might provide an indication of the problem.

I agree with this. Matter of fact, I usually turn smoothing off on all flat surfaces. It should clear up the problem you're seeing.face_off wrote:If the Ray Epsilon was not the issue, it could be the normals for the geometry are wrong. Try turning OFF smoothing on the Octane material.
