Hi, there is no way to make this work on top of mix materials as base?
Why? You can assign sub materials to objects and it will internally create a mix material for you. You have to have some opacity for second material. Can you get the trick?sirkaoselite wrote:Hi, there is no way to make this work on top of mix materials as base?

once again aoktar rulez the universe !!!!
ok, if i can change the subject as i can't get any help on this anywhere so far. is it possible to get zbrush displacemet maps to work with Octane ? for example creature skin details etc ??
i can't get it to work at all like used to with vray. if you know of any links that might help, please let me know.

Np! Btw i never got why/how people could not get zbrush -> octane!!!??? It should be enough and easy to obtain same behaviour by keeping midlevel=0.5 in displacement. Because as i heard that zbrush is working with centered intensity displacement maps.jontz71 wrote:once again aoktar rulez the universe !!!!

aoktar,
i think you will save many emails if you can help with this issue step by step.
1) could you make a simple sphere in zbrush. make it into a polymesh. divide at 3 times and apply some high freq detail alpha ?
2) then creative the UV with UV master and show us your settings.
3) duplicate your sphere and zremesh for low res
4) "project all" to project the details
5) make "displacement texture" show us your setting , make "normal map" show us your settings
6) import low res obj into c4d Octane and show us setting for displacement and normal
i've tried this and can't get it to work with a low res object like i used to with vray.
see attached effort screen shots.

@jontz71,
please do not expect me to know every softwares. I don't know to use zbrush. Just send geometry+textures and expected results from zbrush and let's see what you do in octane.
