Animated Wind With Scatter Object
Moderators: ChrisHekman, aoktar
So I have a landscape scene with tons of different plants and grass using the forester plugin and then octane scatter to place them (with this many multicloner does not run anywhere near as fast so is not possible to use), I want to add wind, but the only way to get it to show up with animation is to resend all scene data, which adds minutes per frame, how can i do this
Hi,
It seems to me there's a cache system with Forester, have you check it?

They should be updated on every frames if they get animated by wind. Are they?

No, they do not, the only way to get wind to render is to send all scene data every frame
It also seems to have to add on about 30 seconds each frame even without wind just preparing, any way to speed this up? (Ex. Switching between cameras on the same frame takes only a second, but if you have an animated camera and move to a different frame it takes much longer, seems like the scatter object is recalculating things even though it doesn't need to)

Updates without Octane is still very slow for viewport. I don't think that's a topic related with scatter object. Here's a object "Sycamore tree" it's heavy and animated. Export part is not long for plugin but "updating" part is taking time. It's not about plugins. It's a geometry preparation process for the Renderer in Octane core.
