Hi Chaps,
Much, much confusion on my part with regards to octanes gradient nodes and how to actually use them.
Basic case scenario - I have created a Red, Green Blue gradient in modo and then plugged this modo gradient into the Octane Gradient 2 node via right-click Add channel / Gradient RGBA.
The Octane result is completely different. Can I expect to see the same result?
I am have always struggled with the octane gradient nodes, they just do not seem to work in a way I expect. Are there any good tuts or overviews about how they can be used?
Here is a modo v10 scene with the setup I would have expected to work, hope that someone can shed some light on this for me.

Hi - the Octane Gradient node is based on the value of the input "Input". So connect a Saw Wave to the Input and it gets you closer to when you are looking for. Set the Offset to 0.5.

try driving a rgb image to the gradient - it doesn't behave as gradient, it changes colour of the input based on the color from "gradient" (nothing to do with gradients..)

OK thanks. So it's not directly editable but based on modifying an existing input. I will give this a try and see if I can get the desired effect.
Thx D.

If i understand your post correctly, you can get a gradient by adding a Saw-Wave to the Input of the Gradient 2.TheImageFaculty wrote:OK thanks. So it's not directly editable but based on modifying an existing input. I will give this a try and see if I can get the desired effect.
