Error, can't open config file notification

I have recently been getting this error notification whenever I close the Octane Plugin Options.
I have no idea why it's happening and how to correct it.

Could this be file permission issue?

Hi,

Yes, it seems some kind of issue writing the preferences file. Do you have the "LWOctane.cfg" file already available in your LightWave config files folder? Perhaps you should try to delete it.

I removed the LWOctane.cfg file and this successfully corrected the error as you suggested.
