Paul,

I just solved my 'Refreshing geometry that you want' request. By using the proxy feature.
If I create a scene in poser and export just Frame 1 of the environment (or none moving objects) to ocs format, using octane plugin.
Open the file I exported into octane and apply the same nodes to get VDB into the plugin but instead attach the exported ocs poser scene.
Save the file and open it in the poser plugin using the proxy feature. Refreshing geometry in poser takes longer than it would, using the octane plugin.
Especially if it's a High-Res one (which poser Always take forever to Refresh the Geometry with).

Here are the results of my test with a very High-Res obj file that slowed poser down to a crawl.

Using a very High-Res 80 megabit model:

Max. Sample: 200
End Frames Set To: 9000 / For 5 minutes of Animation frame.
Refresh Geometry Each Frame: Enabled

Rendering Without My Method:
Estimated Total Time: A little over 3 Days
Average Time Per Frame: 00:29

Rendering With My Method:
Estimated Total Time: A little over 1 Days
Average Time Per Frame: 00:10

So with my method, animators can now render 1/3 of the time by refreshing only the geometry that they are animating in poser while the octane plugin renders the saved none animated environment or objects, quicker than poser would.

Paul,

I think I deserve a reward for this one.
Or at least I think I deserve a cookie. Lol

Thanks, Paul.

Do you think this method would work with other plugins?
If so I would like to post this is the Resources and Sharing part of the octane forum.

I'm not sure which other plugins allow the importing of ORBX/OCS proxies, so it may not be valid for other plugins.

Does DAZ plugin could import ORBX/OCS proxies ?
I will check that.
Can you explain the technique using screen captures ?
Thanks

Actually, I think I will just do a video tutorial of the process.
It may take a few days before I release it though.
