Hi all,
Anyone know if it's possible to use an image sequence as an emission texture?
I want to make an OELD screen with an image sequence as the diffuse texture and have it emit light.
I can get the image sequence to work in the diffuse slot easily but the node editor won't let me connect the image texure node to the emission slot in the material.
Is there any way round this or any suggestions for getting the same effect another way?
Cheers.
Image Sequence as Emission Texture

You can't do direct connection. You should use a texture emission and connect to texture pin. You may find some examples in same scenes from forum topics also.

Aoktar, I just wanted to ask if there are any future plans to enable texture emissions via the node editor. I recently did a project with a lot of image-based emissions, and at the time I remember thinking that it really would have been great to be able to pipe these in via the node editor. Some of the emissisons were also combined with a noise or a colour correct or mult, and so without being able to have this chain of nodes in the node editor there was a lot of drilling down for editing. This post reminded me of that, so asking the question now. Is that a difficult thing to do? Perhaps via an additional node - like displace can't just be piped in, it has to go via displace node then connect to material. Perhaps there is a way similar to allow connection of texture emission.
Thanks!
