Hi all, am fairly new to the 3D world, but have been playing with C4D for a while and am loving Octane, but I am trying to do something material wise that I'm not sure is actually possible.
The project is a 4-5 minute video to play in the background on TV's whilst my band plays, will just a be a load of different animation things, but I am wanting to know if it is possible to have a material that is basically a brushed metal, but then it has a material almost like a lacquer over the top, so the detail of the metal can only be seen when I am really zoomed in?
All help is greatly appreciated!!
This what I am aiming for, and any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Ritchie

Hi Aoktar, I was thinking about it and looking for other answers and I think I am needing to do it like a car paint material. Ideally I want it to look like a thin layer of perspex over the top of the metal beneath. Does that make sense?
