I currently have 1 master and 1 slave machine. If I want to add a second slave machine do I simply purchase the "OctaneRender™ for Maxon Cinema 4D License" for $269?

Hi sdanaher,
if you are talking about OctaneRender Network feature, you always need a Combo license Standalone + Plugin for the Master, and an additional Standalone license for each Slave.
So, if you have one Master and two Slaves, you need one c4doctane license and three Standalone license.
If you are talking about c4d Team render, then you need a Combo license for each client node, so in your case, you need three c4doctane licenses, and three Standalone licenses.

Yes network rendering (no Team Render).

I have 1 Combo license, 2 standalone licenses. So I would just need 1 additional Standalone, correct?

Hi sdanaher,
then yes, you need only another Standalone license.
Happy GPU Network rendering,

cheers bepe... weighing up the cost/value of an extra license and a spare MacPro I have vs custom PC with all 4 cards in. I take it there's no license limit on GPUs as long on they are all in one machine?

Hi sdanaher,
the current limit is 20 GPUs per Master, external or internal.
I guess that you must consider also the cost of the cooling, the more GPUs you have in a box, the more you need to spend to keep them at good temperature.
