Among the features I would like added to Octane render
Is it difficult to add functionality similar to the fprime rendering system?
Is it difficult to implement a system that renders to 5000 samples and continues after 5000 samples and continues to render additional?
If you can continue sampling and continue, it will reduce your worries about noise.

Hi!

Good reminder, Somethign like that was added into Octane standalone some time ago but i never seen is that been adopted by plugins (not jus tLW but others also)?

Yes that was great feature of FPRIME rendering, Progressive rendering with saveable/continuous refinements so you could set how much time to render each frame (or how many samples) and then continue refining later. It was very useful for compositing and video editing of animations while animation was still in progress. You make first pass very lwo quality but you get ALL frames and you start editing them. While you edit/do compositing frames still refine in background (another machine or same) so you just update frames in timeline/project of your favorite Video editor/compositor and they are better and better quality longer you leave it to render. BUT key point is oyu have complete animation length very quickly.

Jaun / Otoy, is that possible ?

At some point, I want to check again this Standalone feature to see if it can be added to the LW plugin. I remember some problems to use it for rendering animated sequences, but to be honest this was a long time ago.

I'll try to take a look at it again ASAP.

Thanks,

I agree this would be an awesome feature. It would be great to be able to keep checking the progress on an animation and stop it right when you think it's been cleaned up enough, finding that balance of time and quality.
