Animated noise for displacement in a layer shader

Just want to check in if this is possible; I'm using C4D animated noise in a C4D distorter in a C4D layer shader to drive displacement, works and looks great in preview, but doesn't animate when it's rendered. Can't share the scene i'm working on at the moment and I don't have time right now to replicate but just wondered if this was something that was known to be supported or not.

Figured it out if anyone's curious - toggle resend all scene data in octane render settings
also added a bunch of keyframes to the animated textures and an octane object tag to displaced object.

Hi, I'm having a very similar issue so thanks. Also did you find that quality of the render when using the c4d layer shader was extremly low res...?
Hi,
did you know about this feature:
https://docs.otoy.com/manuals/products/ ... d-shaders/
Please, always avoid to use c4d shaders, and try to recreate the same effect with octane internal node shaders. If you cannot find a way, bake the c4d shader by exporting to Standalone. A new folder with all the baked texture will be created, and you can remove the c4d shader with an imagetexture node, speeding up a lot the workflow and the final rendering.

You can set the resolution in the Octane render settings. The standard setting is very low.lemmingsammy wrote:Hi, I'm having a very similar issue so thanks. Also did you find that quality of the render when using the c4d layer shader was extremly low res...?
C4D 2025 | Win10
... Or you can set individual definition for each material in the Common tab of the material...
