Hey quick thing I noticed.

Im rocking a GTX 1080-GTX 1070- GTX 970 RIG + Xeon 2695 v3 + 64GB DDR4 RAM

Noticed that I was getting anywhere from 20-30 ms/sec.

I thought this was unusual for the most part.

Had all 3 cards on 100% load on projects and it was going slow, but abit faster than when I had just the 1080+970

-----

Recently I took off my 970 completely from the Octane settings menu (deselected it) -- as I needed better viewport and other application performance, and now I get 90ms/sec - 140ms/sec speeds

I was really surprised and happy I found this out.

Idk if its Old news, but its something to watch out for!

Use ur older Maxwell vid cards as viewport cards, not as main cards if mixing with Pascal.

What are you using to test your performance?

Octane in C4D.

I tested with a Complex scene and didnt change anything but the way my Video cards were used

I mix 1080, TITAN X, TITAN, 980Ti and TITAN Black without any problems.

Hi Boris,

i am experiencing same issues here:

2 780s and one 980 Ti together lighting fast!

Adding a new 1080 to the system it got a lot slower than before! A lot!

Deselected each card in each combination in different scenes and there is always the same to assume: If the 1080 is rendering, everything slows down.

One thing seems different that with your system: Running only the 1080 it is rendering very slow too, even if it should be faster than the 780s.

One thing to mention: the 980 TI and the 1080 both are running over risers. But as i understand, the pure rendertime should not be affected and the are two possibilies: It runs or it does not. There is no "the card has less renderpower this way". The 1080 runs at full throttle and shows very disapointing renderpower.

Not happy with this result. Looking for an other solution, than using the 1080 just as displaycard now.

As i wrote in an other thread, i hope for the octane 3 bench soon, so there will be some solid numbers to orientate at.

If you got some news, please post here. Thanks in advance!

Best, Chris

Hi, someone find a fix for this, am using the Amfeltec rig with a 1080TI, 1 Titan X Maxwell and 1 780, the score for the 1080ti is 134. Any ideas why?

AFAIK there is no official OctaneBench which supports Pascal GPUs so not sure where did you get correct score for 1080ti ?

Hi,
With amfeltec cluster or splitter, you will lose performance as the V3 Octane has kernel change since V2, frame buffer and tonemapping are in system RAM. There are lots of traffic between host and GPU.
Here are my tests : viewtopic.php?f=40&t=43597&p=309503#p309503
I7-3930K 64Go RAM Win8.1pro , main 3 titans + 780Ti
Xeon 2696V3 64Go RAM Win8.1/win10/win7, 2x 1080Ti + 3x 980Ti + 2x Titan Black
