Classic scenario:

Forced Windows update shuts down my machine while rendering. Now Octane gives me the Error:

Another instance of Octane is performing authentication tasks

Unlocking via Website DOES NOT help!

Pls I need to render stuff till tomorrow morning. How in the world can I fix this. These license Issues are giving me hell in the worst possible situations.

In case you are using some plugin then install standalone OR and unlock/release if from there.

you cant use a plugin without standalone installed, however, after 30 mins it worked all of a sudden.
No idea if unlocking takes that long or what the problem was. Just glad I can go on working.
