Hey everyone,

first time posting.

recently I been working between my laptop and desktop, and realize that the licence won't log out as what it used to do.

In the past, once the desktop is shut down or programs not in use. Octane licence just releases and usable on any other machine.

However, from last few updates I doesn't releases anymore. I have to manually log out form C4d to able release both C4D and stand alone.

I almost running out of unlocks for me licences. and this is annoying me that it's just not happening automatically when I should be.

please Help!

Cheers

Hi,

Welcome to the forums.

Do you mean Octane, C4D updates or a Windows update? Would you be able to tell what was the latest version or when it didn't use to happen?

How exactly do you do this? Can you please give specific details of how you are logging out?

Also, if your Internet connection is unstable, licenses may not be released, so it's worth checking on the webpage before leaving to make sure it's the case. If you want to ensure licenses are released on your machine, from Standalone you may sign out going to File > Account ... > Sign out which I am not sure you are doing already.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for quick reply @mojave

What I'm facing is every time i want to use my octane licence on another machine, I need to manually log out as you said File > Account ... > Sign out

I normally won't touch octane stand alone. in the past every time I open c4d it is pre-signedin so i don't have to do anything. and when i close C4D even leaving the computer on it releases the octane license automatically.

Now, If I just close c4d or even shut down my computer, the license info on webpage shows it still attach to my desktop.
so that i have to manually sign out like the way you said and log in again with another machine.

Manually, sign in and out works perfectly. and nothing wrong with my internet connection.

it's just not working automatically as before. everything machine is pre-signed in and I just need to switch off c4d on the machine i dont need (releases the license), and i can freely open c4d on another machine (with octane working straight away). (no manual work with needed for octane licensing)

I'm pretty sure when 3.0 just came out, it works that way really smoothly. now i'm on 3.06 .

hope all this explains. I have colleague have same issue with me too.

Would you be able to check if the standalone license is released by just closing standalone application? - Make sure C4D is not running when you close standalone.

If the standalone license is shown as released every time (please check several times) on the website, this may be a sign that there's an issue with the C4D plugin.

Hi rifat,
do you have a c4d custom layout with LV inside?
Could you try to close c4d by going to menu File/Exit or by pressing ALT+F4, and see if c4d is closing properly?
If c4d is not perfectly closed, the license cannot be deactivated.
