Hey guys, sorry it took me so long to reply.

Since I didn't manage to get rid of the noise in the multilayer EXR file I reverted to rendering the beauty pass separately. That does the trick.

By the way, whenever I'm compositing 3D passes, I'm using After Effects in 32Bit linear mode, so that didn't fix the issue. But thanks for suggesting it anyway.

Ahmet, since this has threat has got your attention, just a quick request. It's regarding those white outlines when you generate Alpha channels with Octane. I followed all of the suggestions that have come up on the forum, but seriously, I can't get rid of them and that really makes proper compositing very difficult. Is there a way you will address this in a coming update, i.e. clean Alpha channels straight out of the render? That would be amazing!

It's always possible no need any updates. You need to investigate some related parameters. Please check my previous answers for similar questions.

Keep environment, premultiply alpha, disable partial alpha are some of parameters which affect the results.

Thanks Ahmet, that's good to know. I'll have a look through the forums. Is there one discussion in particular that clarifies those issues? Just in case you can narrow it down somehow.

Solved Ahmet. I followed your discussion here:

This seems to have generated a clean Multipass Alpha.

Funnily enough, the Beauty pass now has the white fringing on it (and After Effects won't allow me to change an EXR's Alpha interpretation), but that's fine I guess.
