Hi, I am currently using the version 3.06 Teste 3, and I've been testing the new Adaptive Sampling feature. It is incredible and saves a lot of render time. However, when I try to render an animated sequence through the Picture Viewer, it seems that the Adaptive Sampling is not taken into consideration.

Please, I need to know if this is a feature that is only used by the Live Viewer, or there is a way of activating it through the Picture Viewer.

Thank you in advance,

Hi Rafael,
yes sure, it works exactly the same between LV and PV, unless you have a different setting in the Overwrite Kernel Settings Tab in Render settings.
Look at this example:

At the beginning, max sampling is 3 and the final time is 37min.

while, when AS enters in action, the max samplings goes to 134, and the final time drops to 6min.
Probably, because you cannot switch back and forth between beaty and noise pass like in LV, you are feeling that AS is not working.
You can enable the noise pass in the Render passes settings and save it, if you see some green pixels, then everything is working as expected:

Happy rendering,

Hey Ciao Beppe,

Thank you for clarifying that for me. I was a bit confused if it was actually using the feature or not.
