Hi Paul,

It's definitely got more to do with my system...I performed another clean sweep and installed 368.69-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql
at least now I am getting consistent BSOD with this error message.

driver IRQL not less or equal
nvlddmkm.sys

I haven't tried underclocking as yet but thank you for pointing me to your signature. I did uninstall and re-install Octane but got the same result.

I did stress test my GPU with Valley | UNIGINE when I was working through DAZ / Iray Issue sending logo files and it got through that okay
Also pushed the limits with 3D Coat Voxel Sculpting and no issues.

Only time the system crashed before was with Iray, Octane was stable but all my messing around has caused issues here now.

It could be hardware related but I dont think so, things started going pear shaped after Win 10 Update / NVidia Driver Update for Substance Painter.

Been checking all sorts of web reports on nvlddmkm.sys / video tdr faliure / - I am missing something.......

I performed another clean sweep for Nvidia Drivers today, installed 378.92-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql, Octane Standalone 3.04.5 crashes in the first few minutes....GPU gives

Feeling very confident now that this is Driver Issue related.
I haven't seen other reports of this - so my guess is this is a hardware issue. Have you tried underclocking your card (as per the link in my signature)?

Hi Paul, I just realized something when I was recently asking you for the whole expanded-background image carry-over thing in place of the 'Visible Environment'.
I was making the alternative too complicated...

Can you add this option, which the standalone has, I'm imagining just make it consistent with what the standalone does. Same abilities, same limits:
That Octane Standalone feature is not part of the Octane API, so does not really change the situation - sorry.
Hi Paul, I gotcha... thanks for considering the idea.

Laticis, do you get crashes/BSOD on a V2 of Octane (ie Octane 2.17, 2.26, etc), or only on the latest V3 test releases?
How are your Titan Z's connected to the mobo...

Hi,

I uninstalled V2 a while back but that would be an interesting test. / 2 x PCIE ( x16 ) - No SLI

I have 4 more days before I leave but and I need to finish up a project but I am going to do a complete OS fresh install and start from scratch.
Big job (reinstalling all my software) but it will be worth it I hope.

Hi Paul,

Not as yet mate, all going well I will have an opportunity to do so tonight.

It's not just Octane or Iray crashing either....at points DS/Iray won't even see the GPU and starts rendering automatically with the CPU

Hi Paul,

Tried underclocking tonight, within 1-minute Octane Standalone rendering a standard mix material - BSOD

Video_TDR_Failure (NVLDDMKM.SYS)

I think now it is time to reinstall and clean sweep the OS, start fresh and then if there is still problems after that it has to be the GPU's but somehow I don't think it is...fingers crossed.

Have you checked your power supply is up to scratch?

Have you checked your GPU temperatures with GPU-Z?

Have you tried just rendering with one card to isolate if it is a specific card causing the issue.

Have you disabled SLI?

Hi Paul,

PSU is a 1500w and I am running off a 15amp power outlet.
GPU temps are good, don't even render long enough for them to raise.
Sli is disabled and after installing update I confirm that it settings.

Negative on trying a single Gpu

Either way its too late now. The resest failed, I will now need to download
WIN 8.1 OS to USB tomorrow as it's what I have a serial number for.

I fly out Friday for two weeks in Bali so it's all going to have to wait till I get back.

If all fails after a clean start I will just purchase a new gpu and send the others
Off for testing.
