Hi,

Apologies if this is a dumb question, I am still new and learning to use Octane. What's the proper workflow when using Render Passes for animated sequences and compositing in AE?

Say for example I am animating a cell phone, 0-50 frames. I want a beauty pass, alpha, reflections, diffuse... I assume this is a good time to use Render Passes for this scenario, right?

Should I use the C4D standard "Save" option + Render Passes? Or should I only use Render Passes to achieve all the passes?

Also, when I export to EXR using Render Passes, there's an RGB channel that is usually empty. What is that?

Thank you.

Thank you.
It's like a bug and unnecessary. Fixed on 3.06 versions.

Default options of render settings are fine for your purpose. Just save them as 32bit linear files as exr, tiff, psd. You shouldn't use c4d's saving for passes. Go with octane's saving section for passe and don't forget to watch inlifethrill's tutorials.
