I've picked up one of the newer Razer Blades packing a GTX1060, and have also picked up a Core for eGPU loaded up with a GTX1080 for when I can be less mobile. Either GPU works fine, but I can't seem to get both to work together with Octane. When I run it as a slave, I get the following message:
CUDA error 100 on device -1: no Cuda-capable device is detected
CUDA error 100 on device -1: no Cuda-capable device is detected -> failed to initialize CUDA driver API
The GPU selection means no GPU gets enabled, which makes the slave useless.
If I disable either the 1080 or the 1060 in the device manager, I can render fine with no errors, but I get this anytime both are enabled. Anybody have any ideas what the issue may be?

Sorry to hear about your trouble. I have the Stealth running a 1070 and am in the process of setting up a MacBook Pro with 750m. From my limited experience, plugging the card in the egpu into an external monitor helps with these situations. Have you tried that?

Thanks for the suggestions, I've tried both options but neither have made a difference unfortunately.
It seems this happens anytime I have both the 1060 and 1080 enabled in the device manager. If I disable either one, things roll along fine with Octane just using the other GPU. But if I have both enabled I get this error, even if I have configured the slave to only use 1 GPU.
I may connect the Core to a desktop with USBC/thunderbolt and see if I have the same issues.

I am looking forward to get similar setup.
Razer Blade full he screen, gtx1060 + razer core with gtx1070.
Just for live viewer.

I haven't been able to get both GPUs to run simultaneously yet, still getting the same error. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all drivers and anything else I could think of that might affect it, plugging into an external monitor, etc and have had no luck yet.

So, on Facebook, we had similar discussion, and one of the guys commented following:
-" I asked razer about this, they don't support running them together, either you run the GTX 1060 on you razer blade or you plug in the razer core and it'll use the GTX 1070, they won't run as SLI"

Its clear they won't run as SLI since they are not physically able to be connected with an SLI bridge - that much is fairly obvious. But regardless, Octane does not require SLI so that isn't really the question to be asking. I've seen plenty of multi GPU systems working with external cards on the forums here, so I am still holding out hope that there may be a way.
