Hello,
After thinking about the investment for couple of months I finally decided to buy Octane Renderer today. So I went ahead and downloaded it right after and installed both the standalone and the plugin for my (respective) R18 version of Cinema. After trying a couple of restarts, I realized, that that wasn't going to work in Cinema since it didn't come up in the menus or other UI.
Unfortunately, I saw soon after that you need exactly the latest service pack of Cinema for it to run (50 something). The problem now is that the latest service packs don't work on my machine for some inexplicable reason - believe me I have tried. And now I am stuck with R18.011, so a couple of service packs before the required.
Now my question is if there is any way whatsoever to get this to work on my machine.
I know it's rather puzzling, but I would sincerely appreciate help with this.
Thank you,
Martin

Hi Martin,
sorry to hear that you are having installation issues.
In the mean time, you could try with an older version and the R17.cdl64 file:

Sounds bad. I use latest C4D updates on builds as much as possible. So you need to update somehow. But R17 version works on R18 until now. Sounds strange but correct. This gave some troubles on my side. So on latest plugin version i've started to avoid these. It will be loaded on 3.05.3 but not for next releases.

Newer sdk is always better because it has fixes for problems.
