What is it with this incredibly buggy software! Every time I'm in the middle of a job on a tight deadline, my Octane subscription goes belly up.
Been working all day on job, c4d crashed and now I cannot get Octane to load in c4d.
Standalone loads fine.
What's the quickest way to get it going again? I CANNOT spend 4 days talking to support.
URGENT! Octane VR not loading[SOLVED]

I can open c4d and create c4d materials, and work normally. If I try to create an Octane material or launch the live viewer I get an endless spinning beachball.
I've restarted, I've trashed the c4d prefs, I've trashed the Octane folder in prefs, nothing seems to work.

First you need to open Console window when you load C4D and send a screen shot about loading messages from Octane. Later a sshot from settings->Devices section.mitchino wrote:I can open c4d and create c4d materials, and work normally. I have had this happen periodically in the last few days. I have not used Octane in several weeks, and it was very frustrating. I launched the standalone to confirm that my license info was good (it was.) I left standalone running when I re-launched Cinema and tried using Octane again. I received that same error. I made to sure to get all of the current versions of both standalone and the plug in. At some point, even though the error screen appeared, Octane did load, and I could use it.
After reading this post, I decided to try again today, and sure enough, the same thing: first an error, then the UI appeared. Here is the snippet from the Console window:
It seems as if there is some communications thing not being initialized at first.
The error dialog closed before I could grab a screenshot. The Devices tab shows all of my GPUs as I would expect.
Hope this helps, Ahmet!

Hi Jayroth, you seems like using Regular version not VR. I asked for this screens because of seeing what's the messages on initialisation of plugin. Because mitchino talked about spinning mouse cursor. It means somethings is not initialised well.
Your case maybe different. What it says in error messages? Can you capture a video for example?

Hi Ahmet,
you're right, of course. That said, I am still getting the same error he referenced, and I think I know when it occurs; usually after a cold machine start up, and first time launching Cinema after that. I will try to capture the actual error.
